Detailed itinerary

35 KM

Please note: The order of the days below may change, according to weather and sea conditions.

Day 1: Day of Arrival (4 km)

Arrive in Hermanus around 13h00 at your accommodation overlooking Walker Bay. Let us know if you need an airport transfer or a lift.
A fun afternoon exploring Hermanus, a visit to the whale museum, the shark conservancy and an orientation walk around this charming seaside village,
followed by a walk along the famous cliff path stopping for sundowners and a welcome dinner.

Day 2: (12 km)

After breakfast we transport you to the start of your beach walk. A picnic lunch at Sopiesklip, a place where the local fishermen hid their ‘Sopie’ between expeditions. The beach is pristine, remote and has the most incredible rock formations. Our team will meet you at the end and take you to your next accommodation for sundowners and dinner.

Day 3:  (4 km)

Today is a sea day and includes a boat trip with a marine biologist, learning about, and possibly seeing the Marine Big 5!  You will then visit a penguin sanctuary and a world famous light house.  Back home to relax, sundowners and dinner.

Day 4: (11 km)

After breakfast, head along an incredible coastal path along the eastern side of Walker Bay, overlooking the azure ocean. On a clear day you can also see Cape Hangklip in the distance – which is the starting point of our full Camino, and ending point of our Kogelberg Nature Trail. This path is the best land-based whale watching in South Africa. Lunch, followed by a walk down to the world famous Klipgat Cave. This is an incredible archaeological site with spectacular limestone rock formations around the entrance, and breathtaking views over Walker Bay. In 1960, it was discovered that Middle Stone age man had been there 70 000- 80 000 years ago, and many of the tools are now on display in the Cape Town Museum.

Day 5: Departure Day (4 km)

Breakfast and check out by 09h00. Back to Hermanus for a short walk in the mountains . The tour will end around 13h00 . You may want to go for lunch in Hermanus, visit a spa, wine farm or partake in an activity. We can help you book these, and transport you there and back.
