This peaceful trail winds through the heart of the Kogelberg Biosphere, offering views of rugged peaks, unique fynbos, and abundant birdlife. Take a refreshing dip in one of the river’s natural pools before heading back to your secluded eco-cabin nestled in nature. Evening includes sundowners, a hearty dinner, and stargazing under the clear sky.
Day 2: Summit Trail — Oudebosch to Harold Porter
Walking distance: 9 km / 5.6 miles
Elevation: 330 meters, easy to moderate

Wake to freshly brewed coffee or tea, champagne air, birdsong, and sweeping mountain views.
There’s time for an early morning dip in the crisp mountain river, if you wish, before enjoying a fresh continental breakfast and packing up for the day’s walk. The trail begins in the fynbos-rich Oudebosch Valley, winding upward beneath the canopy of indigenous forest. Along the way, pass sculpted rock formations and pause at breathtaking viewpoints over the coastline and cascading waterfalls. From the summit, descend into the Harold Porter Botanical Gardens, home to one of the most botanically diverse floral regions on Earth.
At the end of the trail, your transport will be waiting with your luggage — ready to return you to your car, or carry you onward to your next adventure.

The walk begins gently, weaving through coastal fynbos and rocky outcrops. As you ascend, the terrain becomes steeper and more textured, with panoramic views unfolding in every direction — from False Bay to the Kogelberg Mountains. Breathe in at the top, soak up the beauty and enjoy snacks and refreshments before heading down again. Return to your villa for sundowners and dinner. End your evening of star-gazing and relaxing.
Day 2: Path to the penguins

Elevation: Gentle coastal
Duration: Approx 4 hours

Wake with coffee to the sound of waves. After breakfast, check out at 10h00 and begin your coastal walk, to follow a winding path that hugs the shoreline — with an opportunity for ocean swims along the way. This is remote, secluded and beautiful and you are not likely to see another person for most of the walk.
Continue through beautiful bays until you reach Stony Point Nature Reserve, home to a thriving colony of endangered African penguins – your curious, feathered friends are waiting to greet you.

Day 1: A Sunrise and Sunset over two oceans in just one day!

Meet before dawn on the longest, most secluded beach in South Africa, where a coffee station and guide awaits and the rising sun casts golden light over the Indian Ocean. Begin your day with a soul-stirring swim as the sun rises over the ocean. Spend time: Stretch, play, breathe, run, explore – Be Free!
Set out on foot along a pristine coastal path towards the Southern Tip of Africa. This is a marine paradise – home to the biggest marine sanctuary of Stingrays in the world, and incredible whale sightings in season. Walk with vibrant corals, beautiful shells and shark egg casings scattered along the shore. Pause atop a koppie for a scenic breakfast with sweeping views of the wild ocean before continuing down fynbos-covered slopes to the Cape Aghulas Lighthouse. Go into the lighthouse and up to the light, the view across the Southern Tip of Africa from there is surreal. Head into the village to a local restaurant for a well deserved lunch.
Visit the Southern Tip, and then walk your final 4km crossing pebble beaches and ancient Khoi San fish traps before arriving at your charming accommodation for the night.
Take time to rest before heading to a quiet, hidden lagoon. There, you’ll swim once more—this time into the sunset – before gathering for a celebratory traditional South African dinner at your delightful bungalow.

Rather than heading out – stay! Our team will transport you to the Arniston Spa Hotel for a night and take you on a guided walk through the original fishing village in South Africa (Kassiesbaai), the skeleton of a shipwreck and take you for a wonderful exploration into an ancient sea cave. Pamper yourself at the Spa (your own account), relax at the poolside and enjoy a wonderful dinner and hearty breakfast before checking out at 10h00.

Some of our activities on our Cape Escapes and weather and sea dependent.
Activities during your Cape Escape may be cancelled at short notice if conditions are unsafe.
We also may rearrange the itinerary to accommodate these conditions.
In the event that we cannot rearrange your itinerary to accommodate unsafe conditions, our local team has a host of backup activities, and will make sure that we find something suitable for you to do, that still makes your Cape Escape entirely memorable.
We love welcoming families – but our Cape Escapes are specially designed for guests seeking a tranquil, serene and restorative atmosphere.
If you’re planning to bring children, please let us know at the time of booking so we can match you with the right group and ensure the best experience for everyone.
Unfortunately, if we’re not informed in advance, and your booking doesn’t align with the group’s needs, we may need to cancel your participation on arrival without a refund — and we really don’t want that to happen!
Children under 18 require adult supervision.
What if you have to cancel?
- More than two months prior to your start date: We will refund all monies paid to date, less a 10% admin fee.
- Less than two months prior to your start date:
Our team will try their best to resell your place/s and encourage you to do the same. Once your place has been confirmed and secured under a new name, we will refund you all monies paid to date, less a 10% admin fee.
What if our team has to cancel?
In the event that we have to cancel the walk for any reason what-so-ever, a full refund will be issued on all monies that you have paid to date, with the exception of:
- Extreme weather that prevents safe walking.
- Government imposed travel restrictions.
A 50% deposit per person secures your place.
The balance is payable in full, two months before your start date.
For bookings made within two months of your start date, the full amount is due upon booking.
By booking our Cape Escapes you agree to be bound by Wild Wellness indemnity terms and conditions. Wild Wellness, it’s staff, employees, suppliers and partners will not be held responsible for loss, injury, death or damage, including consequential loss of any nature whatsoever during these activities. By booking a boost you understand and accept this. You will be requested to sign an indemnity prior to the start of your boost. Failure to do so will result in you not being allowed to participate, and no monies will be refunded.
